Company Introduction:glass Engin DALYANCI, was born in Corlu, a province of Tekirdag city, which is located at the north-western part of Turkey. His surname 'DALYANCI' means fisherman in English. He spent his childhood in villages where his father was appointed as a school teacher. His primary school teacher whom defines Dalyanci as 'an intellectual person with an always smiling face, who drew frequently' affected the young Dalyanci and caused him to be addicted to drawing.

glassHowever, upon graduating from the motor department of a vocational school he started to work in a factory where he designed machinery and mechanical parts. When he realized that this was not the life he wanted to lead, he decided to enroll to the university.

glassHe started at the Arts Department of the Gazi Faculty in Ankara, in 1983. As he took art very seriously, he never wanted to leave the atelier and was frequently absent from other courses. Friends of Dalyanci describe him as follows; 'he experiments, draws, erases, and brushes fly in the air; we could not even go near him when he was working'.

glassHe tries to capture the real lives of persons who conceal them in their inner world from the lines in their faces. Designs, portraits which he calls "real faces" start to reflect onto his drawings. "My life is that of a person seeking the intensity of live in sticky and gooey paints" says Dalyanci. Prof. Dr. Adnan Turani, for whom he worked as an assistant, gives the following advice to this very impatient young painter: "If you can control and reflect this energy onto your works and art, you may end up with some very exceptional works; otherwise, it will annihilate you".

glassThe young painter uses the language of paints and composition knowledge he had learnt from his teacher as best as he can and tries to develop them by constant working. When the terrestrial society and urban life starts to adversely affect his soul, he leaves his position at the university on a day he describes as "I was suffocating". He is drafted in 1989 to fulfill his military service in Eastern Anatolia as a teacher. He observes there how Anatolian people transfer their lives with full reality to the rugs and kilims they weave, learns to extract root dies from plants and use them.

glassAnd Bodrum... The year is 1990... He moved there for his passion and love to the sea. First he paints the Bodrum Fortress, houses, sails. But these are already done... He looks for something different... This is Halicarnassus...There are traces of Cevat Sakir's (very famous author known as the Halicarnassus' Fisherman ) life on the roads...Eucalyptus trees and chats underneath them...He can take it all. Anatolia showed him syntheses of people's lives, and he engages to evidence the colors, the sun, the sea of Aegean...He discovers fish... Dalyanci's ancestors were fishermen therefore he had a great respect, passion and love to the sea and all the creatures in it. He started to use the figures of fish in his paintings. Because fish represents freedom and it is the symbol of people who are faithful to life. All colorful, all lively, all vivid and all characterized in a mood that reflects Dalyanci himself. He sustains the adventure of a man who discovered his own truth and will not let go of his freedom from the very moment he could lay hands upon. His wife, a native of Bodrum, joins his struggle for life and art in 1992. She always backs him having believed in him. His aim was not only to draw pictures but also he wanted to carry the art into the modern men's life. On this occasion Dalyanci, with his team, sets his products forth in order to enter every area of life such as into the kitchen, into the living room, into the bathroom and so on.Then he created a concept that is composed of plates, dishes, accessories, mirrors, wash-basins, ash-trays, clocks, tables, soap-holders and etc.He used the production technology called 'fusion' ,where the paint is between twa layers of glass, to produce glassware and under-glaze technique to produce ceramics. He is creating these products as hand-made unique articles. He creates his products in two glass and a ceramic fabrique with masters of glass and ceramic handworkers to whom he taught his art style. His products are samples of the traditional Turkish handicrafts. It is made of natural materials that will keep its original condition for thousands of years. Now he presents his art to the world with his authorized and qualified export-team under the name of Mayimpex Co. in order to provide customer satisfaction and to build an international trade-mark concept of DALYANCI...
